Wildlife Friendly Roads Family Fun Pack

Make your next road trip an adventure in caring for wildlife!

The NWC Wildlife Friendly Roads Family Fun Pack is a free downloadable kit designed to help families travel more safely and mindfully through wildlife areas. Inside you’ll find engaging colouring pages, car games, quizzes, and DIY “Wildlife Crossing” sign activities that teach kids (and adults!) how to spot and avoid wildlife on the road.

It’s a fun, creative way to spark awareness, encourage safer driving habits, and help protect the incredible animals that share our roads. Perfect for school holidays, long drives, or a rainy-day activity that makes a real difference.

Download. Share. Make a huge impact.

This poster is designed to be easy to download, simple to share, and effective in the real world. Placed in the right spots one poster can spark conversations, shift driver awareness, and help keep wildlife and rescuers safe on our roads.

Ideas for sharing the poster:

  • With kids: Download and print the poster, talk about why animals cross roads, and let kids help choose where to display it at home, on school noticeboards, or around town and have a family day that feels good as you give back.

  • With mates: Take a few copies along and, with permission, pop them up on community noticeboards, pubs, or in venues that welcome local information.

  • In the glove box: Keep a folded copy with painter’s tape or Blu Tack so you’re ready to share it when the moment arises.

  • Public toilets (behind doors): These are suprising high-visibility spaces where messages are often read.

More ways to help it travel:

  • Community noticeboards at libraries, surf clubs, cafés and post offices

  • Caravan parks and campgrounds, especially during school holidays

  • Workplaces, sheds and staff rooms

  • Local events, markets and school fairs (with organiser approval)

Every time this poster is seen, it helps shape safer driving behaviour — giving wildlife a better chance, and making roads safer for carers and communities too.

Wildlife The NWC Quarterly Newsletter

Wildlife is the NSW Wildlife Council’s quarterly newsletter, bringing together stories, updates, and insights from across the state’s wildlife rescue and rehabilitation community. Each issue highlights sector achievements, upcoming training opportunities, policy updates, campaign news, and resources to support the vital work of carers and rescuers.

Designed to keep members informed and connected, Wildlife also shares inspiring stories from the field and celebrates the dedication of volunteers who serve on the frontline of wildlife care in NSW.

Explore NWC’s impact reports, policy submissions, and sector briefings that highlight our collective achievements and inform evidence-based advocacy that strengthen the whole sector.

These resources demonstrate how data from wildlife rescuers, carers, and community partners shapes better policy, improves welfare outcomes for wildlife, and strengthens the future of wildlife rehabilitation across NSW.
