IFAW Wildlife Reporting App

Wildlife Rescue App — empowering better outcomes, faster

In partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), the NSW Wildlife Council (NWC) helped develop the Wildlife Rescue App - a first-of-its-kind tool in Australia designed to streamline and support wildlife rescue efforts.

When someone finds a sick, injured or orphaned native animal, the app enables them to immediately contact the nearest licensed wildlife rescue group, with guidance on what to do until professional help arrives. It also captures data such as roadkill incidents, helping identify hotspots for preventative measures, transportation intervention, and informing conservation planning.

Since its launch, the app has empowered ordinary people to contribute meaningfully to wildlife care, bridging gaps between the public and the rehabilitation sector and helping injured creatures get help more promptly.
